89 – 91 Charles Street, Leicester LE1 1FA
tel: 0116 262 1212
Bistro Live on Charles Street always gets great reviews thanks mostly to the lively atmosphere rather than the quality of the food. That’s not to say the food there is bad, far from it in fact, it’s more that the party atmosphere inside is all anyone talks about after going there!
The Parcel Yard
48 London Road, Leicester LE2 0QB
tel: 0116 261 9301
After taking over from the old Time bar next door to the train station on London Road, The Parcel Yard has quietly become one of Leicester’s premier nightspots. It’s great for a quick drink and has an extensive menu of traditional food as well as Spanish cuisine.
10-12 Guildhall Lane, Leicester
Everyone loves Taps. It’s a charming little bar and restaurant close to the historic Leicester Guildhall, and is actually based inside one of the oldest buildings in Leicester. It also has a unique self-serve draught beer system (hence the name!) and serves excellent traditional British food. What’s not to love!?
The Boot Room
27-29 Millstone Lane, Leicester LE1 5JN
tel: 0116 262 2555
The Boot Room is well known as one of Leicester’s premier fine dining establishments, and one of the best places to go for very high quality food. It’s located in an old shoe factory – hence the name ‘Boot Room’ – and is a truly independent restaurant specialising in traditional food made from locally sourced, fresh ingredients.
