Leicester City have sacked Nigel Pearson

Reports are emerging this evening that Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson has been sacked by the Premier League club.
Leicester City have suffered a dismal return to the Premier League so far this season – with the 5-3 home victory over Manchester United now a distant memory following a string of poor results.
The club currently sit bottom of the Premier League and are 4 points from safety, which may have led the owners to act and bring in a new manager in an attempt to avoid relegation.
The timing of the decision seems odd though, as the transfer window has just passed so the new manager will have to work with the squad he inherits.
Another contributing factor to Pearson’s dismissal could have been his slightly erratic behaviour on the touchline. Not too long ago the City boss was caught on camera swearing at a fan, and during yesterday’s home defeat to Crystal Palace Pearson bizarrely appeared to ‘choke’ James McArthur.
Also, Leicester City’s big money January signing Andrej Kramaric was left on the bench for yesterday’s game – a decision which may not have gone down too well with the owners.
Whatever the reason, it is clear that Leicester City’s owners have now hit the panic button with the fear of missing out on this summer’s TV money windfall if they are relegated.
Who will replace Nigel Pearson?
It’s early days yet, but Leicester City’s owners will be looking to move quickly to get a replacement for Nigel Pearson in.
Tim Sherwood is currently being mooted across social media as a possibility, with the likes of Kevin Keegan, Roy Keane, Glenn Hoddle and Neil Lennon also being mentioned.
