Leicester to London trains will be affected by planned rail works next weekend (Jan 31 – Feb 1)

Planning on taking the train to London from Leicester next weekend?
East Midlands Trains are reminding passengers that planned works between St Pancras International station and Kentish Town will affect train journeys on Saturday 31 January and Sunday 1 February.
Network Rail will be working on improvements to the overhead lines, which means all journeys from Leicester to London next weekend will be either terminating at Luton or West Hampstead.
All passengers will be able to use their tickets to join connecting trains into London or on the London Underground network though, so with a bit of forward planning the disruption shouldn’t be too bad.
East Midlands Trains’ Customer Service and Commercial Director, Neil Micklethwaite, said:
“This work is essential for Network Rail to undertake and we understand this will have a significant impact on our customers travelling to and from London on January 31 and February 1.
If there are customers who do not need to travel on that particular weekend, we would suggest they choose an alternative day to travel where possible.
We have contacted all passengers who have already booked assisted travel to explain the options available and I would like to take this opportunity to urge all of our passengers who will be travelling and cannot put off their journey, to make sure they check before they travel.”
