Weather warnings for snow issued for Leicester over next few days
Judging by the last week or so, you’d be forgiven for thinking the worst of the wintry weather was behind us now.
We’ve had a nice period of mild weather in Leicester recently, with some days even bordering on pleasant. That’s all set to change over the next few days though as a big weather system from the east starts to sweep over the UK, bringing high winds, rain and the threat of snow blizzards with it.
The Met Office has now issued yellow ‘be aware’ warnings for the whole of the East Midlands starting today (Sunday 22 Feb) until Tuesday (24 Feb).
The warnings are for snow and ice, and the Met Office advise that the public should expect difficult driving conditions and the risk of disruption when travelling.
Leicester could see some significant snow tonight and tomorrow, with blizzards making driving conditions hazardous at times.
Snow is not guaranteed though, so we could get away with just a wet and windy couple of days.
